GP IT systems in Bradford are ‘now stable and in recovery’ following a failure last week.
Digital Health News reported on 29 October that a number of practices across the Bradford and Craven district were experiencing problems following an issue with an air conditioning unit.
In a statement, a spokesperson for Airedale, Wharfedale and Craven Clinical Commissioning Group (CCG), confirmed the situation has improved since then.
They said: “Over the last week we have seen an improving picture with the performance of our IT systems, which are now stable and in recovery. Clinicians can see and update patient records and have access to drives and email. We are optimistic that any outstanding issues will be resolved quickly.”
The statement added that the CCG is “continuing to work on restoring some secondary applications” which includes SMS patient text messaging.
The CCG said it understood the IT problems have “made it harder” for practices to carry out their work.
“We are also asking people using healthcare services to be patient, especially with staff at GP practices whilst they tackle the backlog of work and deal with this ongoing issue,” they added.
